Makhzoumi Foundation participated in the launch of the national “Roadside Tree-Planting” program, organized by the Ministry of Agriculture in cooperation with the Order of Engineers in Beirut. Held under the patronage of Minister Dr. Nizar Hani, the event brought together ministry officials, municipalities, academics, private-sector partners, and specialists in environmental and urban planning. The Minister highlighted the initiative’s role in enhancing environmental sustainability and transforming Lebanese streets into green corridors planted with native tree species.
During the discussions that followed the presentations, Eng. Namani, Manager of the Environment and Development Program at Makhzoumi Foundation, presented the Foundation’s agroforestry project, which has produced and distributed to date more than 1.2 million saplings, mostly native species, across Lebanon, reaffirming the Foundation’s readiness to cooperate and support the program through its plant nursery.

إطلاق برنامج التشجير على جوانب الطرقات
شاركت مؤسسة مخزومي في إطلاق برنامج “تشجير جوانب الطرقات” الوطني، الذي نظمته وزارة الزراعة بالتعاون مع نقابة المهندسين في بيروت. وقد أقيم الحدث برعاية الوزير الدكتور نزار هاني، وجمع مسؤولين من الوزارة والبلديات، وأكاديميين، وشركاء من القطاع الخاص، ومتخصصين في البيئة والتخطيط العمراني. وقد أبرز الوزير دور هذه المبادرة في تعزيز الاستدامة البيئية وتحويل الشوارع اللبنانية إلى ممرات خضراء مزروعة بأشجار محلية.
وخلال المناقشات التي تلت العروض، قدّمت المهندسة نعماني، مديرة برنامج البيئة والتنمية في مؤسسة مخزومي، مشروع “الزراعات الحرجية” التابع للمؤسسة، والذي أنتج ووزّع حتى اليوم أكثر من مليون ومئتي ألف غرسة، معظمها من الأنواع المحلية، في مختلف المناطق اللبنانية، مؤكدةً استعداد المؤسسة للتعاون ودعم البرنامج من خلال مشتلها الزراعي.
