OUR STORY

In 1997, as Lebanon was emerging from the aftermath of the devastating 18-year civil war, Fouad Makhzoumi believed that rebuilding the country required more than reconstruction, it required empowering people with the resources, opportunities, and support needed to restore hope, dignity, and self-sufficiency. Guided by the first motto, “Lebanese Together Again,” he launched a journey focused on helping communities rebuild their lives, voice their concerns, and pursue their aspirations for a better future.

Founded upon this vision and today chaired by May Naamani Makhzoumi, Makhzoumi Foundation has grown into one of Lebanon’s leading non-governmental organizations dedicated to sustainable development and humanitarian support. Through integrated programs in education, healthcare, microfinance, environment, development, and relief, the Foundation continues to provide accessible, people-centered services that empower vulnerable communities and create lasting social impact across Lebanon.

For nearly three decades, Makhzoumi Foundation has been working alongside communities across Lebanon, responding to evolving humanitarian, social, and development needs through sustainable and people-centered programs.

Today, the Foundation delivers integrated services and nationwide initiatives across education, healthcare, microfinance, environment, and community development, and relief. With activities reaching Beirut, Mount Lebanon, North Lebanon, South Lebanon, and Bekaa, Makhzoumi Foundation continues to empower vulnerable communities, strengthen resilience, and create lasting social impact across the country.

I believe that the strength of Lebanon lies in unity, shared responsibility, and our collective commitment to the nation beyond any sectarian, social, or political divisions. Guided by this belief and by a deep sense of patriotism and civic duty, I founded Makhzoumi Foundation with the vision of empowering individuals and strengthening communities through sustainable development and humanitarian action. Through our work, we inspire citizens to contribute toward building a stronger, more inclusive, and more prosperous Lebanon. Rooted in dignity, belonging, and social responsibility, we continue to promote a culture of service, empowerment, and national unity for all who call Lebanon home.
