The Relief and Humanitarian Services Unit
Restoring Dignity Through Humanitarian Support

Makhzoumi Foundation’s Relief & Humanitarian Services Unit supports communities affected by crises, displacement, and protection risks across Lebanon through integrated humanitarian and protection services.

Through case management, psychosocial support, emergency assistance, awareness activities, life skills, and community-based initiatives, the Unit supports children, women, families, survivors of violence, persons with disabilities, while promoting resilience, dignity, and community wellbeing.

Protection & Case Management

The Unit provides comprehensive protection and case management services for individuals and families facing protection risks, violence, displacement, and social instability. Through survivor-centered and child-sensitive approaches, beneficiaries receive individualized support, referrals, follow-up services, and access to essential healthcare, psychosocial, legal, and social assistance.

Psychosocial Support & Counseling

The Unit delivers psychosocial support and counseling services that help individuals cope with stress, trauma, and challenging life circumstances. Through individual counseling, support groups, emotional well-being activities, and child-friendly interventions, beneficiaries are supported in rebuilding confidence, strengthening coping mechanisms, and improving mental and emotional well-being in safe and supportive environments.

Emergency & Basic Assistance

The Unit provides emergency and basic assistance to households experiencing acute humanitarian needs and financial hardship. Support includes emergency cash assistance, relief items, dignity kits, and essential household support. The Unit also ensures accountable and transparent assistance mechanisms that prioritize fairness and community trust.

Community Engagement & Empowerment

The Unit strengthens community resilience through awareness activities, life skills sessions, informal skills training, youth initiatives, positive parenting support, and community-based engagement programs. These activities empower individuals and families with practical skills, knowledge, and support systems that promote protection, social cohesion, self-reliance, and healthier community relationships.

The Fun Bus Initiative

In collaboration with UNHCR, Makhzoumi Foundation’s Fun Bus Initiative brings learning, psychosocial support, and recreational activities directly to children in underserved communities and streets across Lebanon. Designed as a mobile child-friendly space, the Fun Bus creates safe and engaging environments where children can learn, play, express themselves, and experience moments of joy and emotional support.

Through educational games, creative activities, awareness sessions, sports, and psychosocial engagement, the initiative helps children strengthen social interaction, emotional well-being, creativity, and self-confidence while promoting protection and inclusion. By reaching children directly within their communities, the Fun Bus continues to create positive impact and restore safe spaces for learning, development, and hope.
