As part of its many environmental initiatives, Makhzoumi Foundation is committed to reducing the waste crisis, particularly in the capital Beirut and its surrounding areas. It does so by collecting waste and converting it for recycling through its project “Yalla Nefroz”, which it launched in 2016 following the waste crisis. The Foundation implements this project entirely free of charge, providing sorting bins to buildings that are interested in sorting: one for plastic water bottles used for drinking water; another for paper, books, and cardboard; and a third for cans, glass, and assorted plastics. The “Yalla Nefroz” truck passes by regularly to collect this waste and transport it to recycling facilities. It’s one step among many in a journey of a thousand miles.

يلا نفرز من أجل لبنان أنظف
من ضمن اهتماماتها البيئية العديدة، تحرص مؤسّسة مخزومي على الحدّ من أزمة النفايات، لا سيّما في العاصمة بيروت ومحيطها، من خلال جمعها وتحويلها لإعادة التدوير، وذلك ضمن مشروعها “يلاّ نفرز”، الذي بدأته في العام 2016 عقب أزمة النفايات. وتنفّذ المؤسسة مشروعها هذا بشكل مجاني بالكامل، فهي تقدّم المستوعبات للمباني المهتمة بالفرز: واحد لعبوات البلاستيك الخاصة بمياه الشرب، وآخر للأوراق والكتب والكرتون، وثالث للتّنك والزّجاج والبلاستيك المتنوّع … وتمرّ شاحنة “يلاّ نفرز” دوريًّا لجمع هذه النفايات ونقلها حيث يُعاد تدويرها. هي خطوة من ضمن خطوات عديدة في رحلة الألف ميل.
