Makhzoumi Foundation continues to train on many handicrafts, including embroidery on the hoop, a craft that combines benefit with entertainment and provides psychological comfort. This type of training also revives handicrafts by passing them on to new generations.
Makhzoumi Foundation works on several key aspects to empower vulnerable women psychologically: Reducing Gender Based Violence (GBV) risk with prevention strategies & awareness sessions; Promoting resilience in survivors & those at risk through care & support groups; Aiding recovery in GBV-affected communities with Psychosocial sessions (PSS).
The sewing profession remains in demand in good and in bad times, no matter how circumstances change; it opens the door to a good livelihood for those who master it. Makhzoumi Foundation continues to train on it, at its center in Mazraa.
In October, we unite to fight breast cancer! Makhzoumi Foundation teamed up with Lebanese Pharmacy Students, on October 28, to educate women at a public mall. We provided free screenings, discounts, & heartfelt stories from survivors. Together, we’re stronger in this battle!
