Support is always needed for environmental projects to be successful and sustainable with achievable objectives. Support actually provides all the elements of success, starting with the economic strategies that are one of their priorities and adopting the policies necessary to implement them. Lebanon and its main cities such as Sidon, Tripoli and its capital, Beirut, have always suffered because of the problems of sewers that polluted the beach and the sea water and the problems of waste, air pollution, and others. As a solution for this, several environmental projects were carried out by NGOs such as deep sea and coastal cleaning and waste removal.
At the National Meeting for Sustainable Integrated Water Management, SWIM and Horizon 2020, funded by the European Union, Makhzoumi Foundation presented its environmental projects, especially those related to education for sustainable development, which contributed with all the regional efforts to a cleaner Mediterranean region.
