And the best part of it is that we got accredited with EXCELLENCE!
Accreditation is an approach used in primary health care to improve beneficiary outcomes and health system performance. It helps the entire organization work together to create a focus on safety and quality.
The process is ongoing. Makhzoumi Foundation primary healthcare center joined the accreditation process in 2014. Since then, we have been working to identify what we do well and where we could do better, and make improvements based on the results. The surveyors from Canada Accreditation and from the Ministry of Public Health, visited us in October 2016 for a real audit to evaluate the extent to which we are meeting the standards. They shared their expertise and made recommendations.
They then evaluated the results to determine whether we will be accredited.
In August 2017, they provided us with the accreditation report that identifies strengths and areas for improvement.
We are so happy with our achievements and today we will be using the excellence to create and implement more action plans and to continue the cycle of ongoing quality improvement.
