Beirut Marathon Association held the Saradar Bank Women’s Race under the slogan “Draw Your Path”, organized in cooperation with the National Commission for Lebanese Women on Sunday, March 31, 2019, in Beirut Port.
Makhzoumi Foundation participated in this race under the slogan “By Your Side All the Way”, referring to the approach of Makhzoumi Foundation since its establishment in 1997 to this day, to support and empower women, and help them overcome all difficulties and achieve their goals.
President of Makhzoumi Foundation, and member of the National Commission for Lebanese Women and the leader of the fifth goal of sustainable development goals (gender equality) Mrs. May Makhzoumi stressed that Makhzoumi Foundation since its founding has always been with the women: “We are by your side all the way so you can draw your path”, expressing the hope that Lebanese women will occupy important posts.
It is noteworthy that this race carries several messages, first to strengthen women’s capabilities and support them, and second to mainstream the culture of jogging and sports in Lebanon.
أقامت جمعيّة بيروت ماراثون سباق سرادار بنك للسيّدات تحت شعار ” طريقِك قرارِك ” والذي نظّمته بالتعاون مع الهيئة الوطنيّة لشؤون المرأة اللبنانيّة يوم الأحد 31 آذار 2019 داخل حرم مرفأ بيروت.
وشاركت مؤسسة مخزومي في هذا السباق تحت شعار “حدِّك طول الطريق”، بالإشارة لنهج مؤسسة مخزومي منذ تأسيسها عام 1997 وحتى يومنا هذا،لدعم وتمكين المرأة، ومساعدتها لتخطي كافة الصعوبات ولتحقيق أهدافها.
وأكّدت رئيس مؤسسة مخزومي، وعضو الهيئة الوطنيّة لشؤون المرأة اللبنانيّة والممثلة الوطنية للهدف الخامس من أهداف التنمية المستدامة (المساواة بين الجنسين) السيدة مي مخزومي أن مؤسسة مخزومي منذ تأسيسها كانت دائمًا إلى جانب السيدات، قائلةً “نحن معِك، نحن حدِك طول الطريق لتوصلي”، معربةً عن أملها بأن تتبوأ المرأة اللبنانية كافة المراكز الهامّة.
يُذكر أنّ هذا السباق يحمل عدّة رسالتين الأولى تعزيز قدرات السيّدات ودعمهّن، والثانية تعميم ثقافة الركض في لبنان.
