Micro: Bit Foundation – London, represented by Tablet Academy MENA, Launched a Global Challenge for Students to find Solutions for Global Challenges through Micro Bit Coding.
Makhzoumi Foundation took part of this challenge on different levels, 12 students from the Foundation undertook Micro :Bit and Sustainable Development Goals Training, and worked on different projects; two were selected to represent the Foundation at the National Fair.
On another Level, the Foundation hosted open sessions for students and scout associations to go through the same process to provide equal opportunities for all.
At the National Fair, which took place on the 22nd of Feb. 2020, at LWIS CIS school, the teams from Makhzoumi competed with 30 other teams from different academic institutions around Lebanon, presenting two projects that tackles solutions for the SDG 14 (Life Under Water) and 15 (Life on Land); project 1: Automatic Alarm System for Forest Fire, & project 2: Counter Recycle Bin, to encourage Students to recycle.
The Automatic Alarm System won the Promising Team Award for their creative idea;
Makhzoumi Foundation is planning to take part of this project annually and provide ongoing support for all students willing find solutions for global challenges through Micro: Bit coding.
أطلقت مؤسسة Micro: Bit البريطانية ، عبر شريكها في الشرق الأوسط Tablet Academy MENA، تحديًا عالميًا للطلاب لإيجاد حلول للتحديات العالمية من خلال مسابقة ترميز Micro Bit.
شاركت مؤسسة مخزومي في هذا التحدي على مستويات مختلفة، حيث قمنا بتدريب 12 طالب على برمجة Micro Bit، وتثقيفهم حول أهداف التنمية المستدامة، والعمل على مشاريع مختلفة؛ تم اختيار اثنين لتمثيل المؤسسة في المسابقة الوطنية.
على مستوى آخر، استضافت المؤسسة جلسات تدريبية مفتوحة للطلاب وجمعيات الكشافة التي شاركت في هذه المسابقة، لتوفير فرص متساوية للجميع.
في المعرض الوطني ، الذي انعقد في 22 فبراير 2020 ، في مدرسة LWIS CIS ، تنافست فرق مخزومي مع 30 فريقًا آخر من المؤسسات الأكاديمية المختلفة في جميع أنحاء لبنان، حيث قدمت مشروعين يتناولان حلول أهداف التنمية المستدامة 14 (الحياة تحت المياه) و 15 (الحياة على الأرض)؛ المشروع الأوّل: نظام الإنذار التلقائي لحرائق الغابات، والمشروع الثاني: عداد سلة المهملات، لتشجيع الطلاب على إعادة التدوير.
وقد فاز مشروع فريق مؤسسة مخزومي “نظام الإنذار التلقائي لحرائق الغابات” بجائزة الفريق الواعد عن فكرتهم الإبداعية ؛
وتخطط مؤسسة مخزومي للمشاركة في هذا المشروع سنويًا وتقديم الدعم المستمر لجميع الطلاب الذين يرغبون في إيجاد حلول للتحديات العالمية من خلال ترميز Micro: Bit.
