Micro: Bit Foundation – London, represented by Tablet Academy MENA, Launched a Global Challenge for Students to find Solutions for Global Challenges through Micro Bit Coding.
Makhzoumi Foundation took part of this challenge on different levels, 12 students from the Foundation undertook Micro :Bit and Sustainable Development Goals Training, and worked on different projects; two were selected to represent the Foundation at the National Fair.
On another Level, the Foundation hosted open sessions for students and scout associations to go through the same process to provide equal opportunities for all.
At the National Fair, which took place on the 22nd of Feb. 2020, at LWIS CIS school, the teams from Makhzoumi competed with 30 other teams from different academic institutions around Lebanon, presenting two projects that tackles solutions for the SDG 14 (Life Under Water) and 15 (Life on Land); project 1: Automatic Alarm System for Forest Fire, & project 2: Counter Recycle Bin, to encourage Students to recycle.
The Automatic Alarm System won the Promising Team Award for their creative idea;
Makhzoumi Foundation is planning to take part of this project annually and provide ongoing support for all students willing find solutions for global challenges through Micro: Bit coding.
