The 1st Meeting of the Mediterranean Education for Sustainable Development Committee Action held in Cyprus focused on the needs to be taken, in order for the Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) to respond to the needs of the international community for social, financial, ecological and political sustainability.
The meeting was launched during a session at the House of Representatives, chaired by Cyprus House Acting President Adamos Adamou. Participants adopted a series of proposals, aiming to promote ESD in the Mediterranean region through formal and non-formal education systems, highlighting, among others, the need to increase funding.
Makhzoumi Foundation represented Lebanon at this Meeting whereby the Project “Lebanese Youth as Messengers for Sustainability” was presented as an ESD success story of the non-formal sector.
ركز الاجتماع الأول للجنة التربية من أجل التنمية المستدامة في منطقة البحر المتوسطالذي أقيم في قبرصعلى لزوم اتخاذ إجراءات، لكي يستجيب التعليم من أجل التنمية المستدامة لاحتياجات المجتمع من أجل الاستدامة الاجتماعية والمالية والإيكولوجية والسياسية.
وبدأ الاجتماع خلال جلسة فى مجلس النواب برئاسة رئيس مجلس النواب القبرصي بالوكالة اداموس ادامو. واعتمد المشاركون سلسلة من المقترحات تهدف إلى تعزيز التعليم من أجل التنمية المستدامة في منطقة البحر الأبيض المتوسط من خلال نظم التعليم الرسمية وغير النظامية، وتسليط الضوء، في جملة أمور، على ضرورة زيادة التمويل.
وقد مثّلت مؤسسة مخزومي لبنان في هذا الاجتماع حيث تم عرض مشروع “الشباب اللبناني رسل الإستدامة”.
