The 1st Meeting of the Mediterranean Education for Sustainable Development Committee Action held in Cyprus focused on the needs to be taken, in order for the Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) to respond to the needs of the international community for social, financial, ecological and political sustainability.
The meeting was launched during a session at the House of Representatives, chaired by Cyprus House Acting President Adamos Adamou. Participants adopted a series of proposals, aiming to promote ESD in the Mediterranean region through formal and non-formal education systems, highlighting, among others, the need to increase funding.
Makhzoumi Foundation represented Lebanon at this Meeting whereby the Project “Lebanese Youth as Messengers for Sustainability” was presented as an ESD success story of the non-formal sector.
