On the occasion of World Diabetes Day, Makhzoumi Foundation, in collaboration with the Nutrition School of the Lebanese American University, organized an awareness campaign in Spinneys – Jinnah for preliminary Blood Glucose tests.
An estimate number of 500 participants have undergone the screening test. “This year’s theme of the World Diabetes Day campaign is Women and Diabetes,” said Sandra Karnabi, Dietetic Internship Coordinator at LAU. “It’s worth mentioning that this disease is one of the nine leading causes of death among women worldwide.”
After a fruitful collaboration, in its second year between the Lebanese American University and Makhzoumi Foundation, the latter is opening its doors to provide the necessary quality health care through its distinguished medical team and advanced technologies, as well as offering affordable prices to all segments of society.
It is worth noting that the University in cooperation with the Foundation sends its students for an internship at the Health Care Center at Makhzoumi Foundation headquarter in Mazraa so that the students will be able to connect their academic experience with the professional work arena in the future.
بمناسبة ”اليوم العالمي للسكري“ أقامت مؤسسة مخزومي بالتعاون مع قسم التغذية في الجامعة اللبنانية الأميركية حملة توعوية في سبينيس – جناح لإجراء فحوصات السكري الأولية.
وقد لاقت هذه الحملة، إقبالا كبيرا أي ما يعادل 500 شخص. ولفتت منسقة البرنامج التدريبي للتغذية في الجامعة السيدة ساندرا قرنبي الى أن ”هذه السنة ستسلط الحملة الضوء على جميع النساء المصابات بمرض السكري أو المعرضات لخطر الإصابة، تحت شعار ”المرأة والسكري“ كونه يعد أحد الأسباب الرئيسية التاسعة للوفاة بين النساء في جميع أنحاء العالم“.
بعد تعاون مثمر وهو في عامه الثاني اليوم بين الجامعة اللبنانية الأميركية ومؤسسة مخزومي، تشرع الأخيرة أبوابها لتوفير الرعاية الصحية اللازمة بجودة عالية من خلال الفريق الطبي المميز والتقنيات المتطورة لديها، كما يتم تقديمها بأسعار زهيدة تطال كافة شرائح المجتمع.
يذكر أن الجامعة بالتعاون مع المؤسسة ترسل تلاميذها ليخضعوا لدورات تدريبية تحضرهم ليخوضوا غمار هذه المهنة بكامل حرفية وانسانية في المستقبل.
