Based on our goal to empower youth and help them insure a better future, Makhzoumi Foundation held a graduation ceremony for around 1500 young men and women, within the ages of 15 years and 24 years, after receiving training courses under the guidance of our trainers, in collaboration with both Italian NGOs AVSI and CESVI, funded by UNICEF.
Makhzoumi Foundation held 3 different graduation ceremonies on the 24th, 25th and the 27th of September of the ongoing year, in each of Beirut, Zahleh and Tripoli, at the end of training terms. Seven hundreds thirty-nine students (739) from Beirut and Mount Lebanon governorates celebrated their graduation during a ceremony held at AUL university in Beirut. And so did another five hundred eighty students (580) from North Lebanon, during a ceremony held in chamber of commerce, industry and agriculture in Tripoli. In Bekaa governorate, one hundred fifty students (150) celebrated their graduation during a ceremony held at Chtoura Park Hotel in Chtoura. Add to them another thirty students (30) graduated in Nabatieh, South Lebanon.
Training classes started in April 2017, and lasted until September of 2018, during which students learned basic literacy and basic numeracy, in addition of various technical training’s. These courses included AC maintenance, home electrician, accounting, beauty (men hairdresser, women hairdresser, make-up artist), photography, line cook, sewing and tailoring. The free training courses were provided by Makhzoumi Foundation’s specialists, in cooperation with Borderless Association, Lebanese Chefs’ Association and Memo electro mechanical contractors, for groups of 15 students.
After the graduation ceremonies, students received certificates of the courses in which they participated, signed by Makhzoumi Foundation, AVSI and CESVI
