The Women and Business Development Council held its Second International Conference entitled “Strategic Planning for the Management of Development – Leadership and Entrepreneurship”, on 27-30 July 2018, at the Lancaster Plaza Hotel – Beirut. The Women and Business Development Council is concerned with enhancing the role of investment in achieving sustainable development, institutional and strategic planning, establishing a mechanism for implementation and enhancing the role of businesswomen in the Arab world to evolve economic growth.
The first day of the conference was concluded with a formal dinner in which businesswomen from the Arab world were honored and Mrs. May Makhzoumi, from Lebanon, was among them, receiving the “Entrepreneurs Award”. Noting that Mrs. Makhzoumi is a member of the Board of Directors of several companies of the Future Group, and she is President of Makhzoumi Foundation that implements projects within the context of raising awareness on sustainable development and working towards achieving it. Eng. Sallama Namani, Manager of the Makhzoumi Foundation Development Program, received the Award on behalf of Mrs. Makhzoumi for being abroad.
أقام “المجلس الإنمائي للمرأة والأعمال” مؤتمره الدولي الثاني بعنوان “التخطيط الاستراتيجي لإدارة التنمية – قيادة وريادة” تحت رعاية مجلس الوحدة الاقتصادية جامعة الدول العربية، وذلك في 27-30 تموز 2018، في فندق “لانكستر بلازا” الروشة – بيروت. مع العلم أن المجلس الإنمائي للمرأة والأعمال يهتم بتعزيز دور الاستثمار لتحقيق التنمية المستدامة، والتخطيط الإستراتيجي المؤسساتي، ووضع آلية للتنفيذ، وتعزيز دور سيدات الأعمال في الوطن العربي لدفع عملية النمو الاقتصاد”.
اختتم اليوم الأول من المؤتمر بعشاء رسمي تم خلاله تكريم سيدات أعمال من الوطن العربي، حيث تم تكريم السيدة مي مخزومي من لبنان بمنحها “جائزة رواد الأعمال” فهي عضو مجلس إدارة في عدة شركات من مجموعة المستقبل، إضافة إلى أنها رئيسة مؤسسة مخزومي التي تنفّذ مشاريع في إطار التوعية على التنمية المستدامة والعمل على تحقيقها. وقد تسلّمت الجائزة المهندسة سلامة نعماني، مديرة برنامج التنمية في مؤسسة مخزومي، بالنيابة عن السيدة مخزومي لوجودها خارج البلاد.
