Makhzoumi Foundation participated in the national conference organized by The Arab Center for the Development of the Rule of Law and Integrity to launch a study on “Women’s Participation in Public Life”, with funding provided by the US Department of State. The conference was held on July 26, 2018, at the Hilton Hotel in Beirut, under the patronage of the Lebanese Minister of Women’s Affairs Jean Oghasbian and in the presence of Her Excellency, the U.S. Ambassador Elizabeth Richards.
The conference comes in the context of the project on ‘Encouraging Marginalized Voices in the Lebanese Political Process”, which is being implemented by ACRLI. The project aims to provide an impetus for women’s effective social, economic and political participation at all levels in public life. The Director General of the Arab Women Organization Dr. Fadia Kiwan presented the Study that was distributed to all the participants in the conference.
