During a visit organized by the Makhzoumi Foundation in collaboration with Lebanon and Beyond, a group of young Lebanese expatriates took part in a specialized training workshop on traditional olive oil soap making, presented by the Environment and Development Program.
Participants learned about the different stages of the traditional soap-making process and had the opportunity to put their knowledge into practice through an interactive, hands-on experience that combined learning with discovering Lebanon’s rich cultural heritage.
The participants expressed their enthusiasm for the workshop, highlighting its educational and cultural value. One participant shared, “It was an amazing experience… it was one of my favorite experiences in Lebanon!”
This initiative aims to strengthen the connection between young Lebanese around the world and their heritage by engaging them in practical, interactive activities that celebrate and preserve traditional Lebanese crafts.

الحفاظ على التراث اللبناني عبر الحرف التقليدية
ضمن زيارة نظّمتها مؤسسة مخزومي بالتعاون مع منظمة Lebanon and Beyond إلى المؤسسة، شارك عدد من الشباب اللبنانيين القادمين من بلاد الاغتراب في ورشة تدريبية متخصصة قدّمها برنامج البيئة والتنمية حول صبّ الصابون البلدي من زيت الزيتون.
وتعرّف المشاركون إلى مراحل تصنيع الصابون التقليدي وأتيحت لهم فرصة تطبيق الخطوات عملياً، في تجربة تفاعلية جمعت بين التعلّم واكتشاف التراث اللبناني. وقد عبّروا عن سعادتهم الكبيرة بالمشاركة في الورشة، مشيدين بقيمتها التعليمية والتراثية، فيما قال أحد المشاركين: “لقد كانت تجربة رائعة… كانت من أفضل تجاربي في لبنان!”
وتأتي هذه المبادرة في إطار تعزيز ارتباط الشباب اللبناني المنتشر حول العالم بتراثه وثقافته من خلال أنشطة عملية وتفاعلية تعرّفهم على الحرف التقليدية اللبنانية.
