Makhzoumi Foundation, in partnership with Armadella (Italian NGO) & MIO-ECSDE (Greek NGO) & ALMEE (Lebanese NGO) and UNESCO National Committee, organized the award distribution ceremonies of the competition of the project “Civil Society in Action towards Sustainable Development” implemented by the Foundation and its partners in the framework of AFKAR III Program, funded by the Union European and managed by the Office of Minister of State for administrative development Affairs. The ceremonies took place in May 2017.
Thirty public and private secondary schools participated in the competition, especially in West, middle and North of Bekaa, addressing the issue of mitigation of carbon dioxide, whereby 1,200 students from participating schools, measured the carbon footprint, and made reports on the monthly consumption of different energy sources. In addition, 500 students from the 30 selected schools took part in a survey entitled “The response of the Lebanese youth to sustainable development “, with the main aim of detecting young people perceptions on the current issues related to sustainable development in their countries, as well as their vision for the future. The results of the study will be published later and distributed to those concerned in education in Lebanon.
The thirty participating schools in the competition won trophies of appreciation, and the winning students received electronic prizes, tablets; as well, solar heaters are to be installed in the participating schools.
إحتفلت مؤسسة مخزومي، بالشراكة مع الجمعية الإيطالية Armadilla والجمعية اليونانية MIO-ECSDE والجمعية اللبنانية ALMEE واللجنة الوطنية اللبنانية لليونسكو، بإعلان نتائج مسابقة مشروع “المجتمع المدني من أجل التنمية المستدامة”، الذي تنفّذه المؤسسة وشركائها في المشروع، في إطار برنامج أفكار 3 الذي يموّله الاتحاد الأوروبي، بإدارة مكتب وزير الدولة لشؤون التنمية الإدارية، وذلك خلال أيار 2017.
شارك في المسابقة ثلاثون ثانوية رسمية وخاصة في البقاع الغربي والأوسط والشمالي، تناولت موضوع التخفيف من أوكسيد الكربون (غازات الاحتباس الحراري – غازات الدفيئة)، حيث قام حوالى 1.200 تلميذاً وتلميذة، من المدارس المشاركة، بقياس بصمة الكربون، ووضعوا تقارير عن استهلاكهم الشهري من مصادر مختلفة، مثل الكهرباء المشتراة من المولدات، الكيلومترات التي يقطعها والديهم بالسيارات، واستهلاك وقود المازوت الذي يستخدم للتدفئة، واستهلاك الورق الخ… في موازاة ذلك، شارك 500 تلميذاً وتلميذة، من الـمدارس الثلاثين المختارة، في استطلاع بعنوان “استجابة الشباب اللبناني للتنمية المستدامة”، وهدفه الرئيسي أخذ تصوّرات الشباب حول القضايا الراهنة المتعلقة بالتنمية المستدامة في بلادهم، فضلاً عن رؤيتهم للمستقبل. وسوف يتم لاحقًا نشر نتائج الدراسة وتوزيعها على الجهات المعنية بالتربية في لبنان.
وقد نالت المدارس الثلاثين المشاركة في المسابقة دروع تقدير، ونال التلامذة الفائزون في المسابقة جوائز إلكترونية هي كناية عن Tablet ، كما وسيتم تركيب سخانات على الطاقة الشمسية الحرارية في المدارس التي شاركت في المسابقة.
