On Tuesday morning, April 20, a course was launched for the designer of innovative community initiatives according to UN standards, which was organized by the Regional Network for Social Responsibility in partnership with Makhzoumi Foundation through the ZOOM app. This session witnessed a great turnout, as more than 100 participants from inside and outside Lebanon participated.
In the opening session, the International Center for Humanitarian Diplomacy, a member of the Regional Network for Social Responsibility – based in Bahrain, honored Mrs. May Makhzoumi, President of Makhzoumi Foundation in Lebanon, in recognition of her efforts, and awarded her the title of Special International Envoy for Humanitarian Diplomacy, in recognition of all her progress in the fields of humanitarian, charitable and community work at both levels national and international. Mrs. Makhzoumi would be the first Arab woman to receive this title.
The President of the International Center for Humanitarian Diplomacy, Ms. Moudhi Al-Buainain, affirmed that they are “confident that entrusting Mrs. May Makhzoumi with this humanitarian and professional mission will contribute to enhancing the quality services for professional humanitarian work in the Arab countries.”
For her part, Mrs. Makhzoumi thanked the International Center for Humanitarian Diplomacy and the Regional Network for Social Responsibility for her selection and honoring her as the International Special Envoy for Humanitarian Diplomacy. She considered that this mission is a great honor, hoping that she will continue to bear this responsibility and be up to the level of this trust. Makhzoumi added, “I learned that helping people is the best way to go to the satisfaction of God and society.” “We are in an age where we are challenging disease, a faltering economy, poverty, famine, and even nature in the whole world, and we must all stand together to face these difficulties and work to sustain the good life for all,” she added.
In turn, Dr. Ali Al Ibrahim, President of the Regional Network for Social Responsibility, greeted Mrs. Makhzoumi, thanking the latter for accepting the mandate and mission of the Special International Envoy for Humanitarian Diplomacy, expressing his confidence in Mrs. Makhzoumi’s ability to support humanitarian work efforts at the national, arab and international levels. And Dr. Al Ibrahim thanked Makhzoumi Foundation, the official representative of the Regional Network for Social Responsibility in Lebanon, saying: “Our true partners support and sponsor this training program.”
After that, the program of the Designing Innovative Community Initiatives with United Nations Standards was launched. This course will last for three consecutive days. At the end of which the participants will obtain an international certificate from the International Academy for Social Responsibility, and a professional card “Designer of Innovative Community Initiatives”.
The program aims to train participants on the tools necessary to design innovative community initiatives according to international standards, and to raise awareness about the importance of aligning community initiatives with community needs by adopting significant professional tools. During this session, the participants’ ability to design effective and attractive community initiatives for supporters, partners and beneficiaries with international standards will be strengthened, and awareness of the requirements for the sustainability of the impact of community initiatives will be increased.
