Makhzoumi Foundation celebrated the graduation of 300 students from different regions of Lebanon, after completing vocational training courses on tiling, wall painting and wallpaper installation, which was organized by the Foundation in cooperation with GIZ, funded by the European Union, Madad Fund, within the QUDRA project. The Foundation held a closing ceremony at the Center for Child and Mother Care in Beirut on 5 August 2019 to graduate about 100 students from the districts of Beirut and Mount Lebanon.
The ceremony was attended by the President of Makhzoumi Foundation, Mrs. May Makhzoumi, the General manager of the Foundation, Mr. Samer Al-Safah, the directors of the Foundation’s programs, as well as the representatives of the partners, the Director of Jamil Al Rawas Secondary School for Boys, Mr. Mazen Al-Taweel, and the owner of Memo Eng. Mazen Shabaro, professors, trainers, students and their parents.
Makhzoumi
In her speech, the President of Makhzoumi Foundation Mrs. May Makhzoumi congratulated the students who completed the training, commending their efforts. Makhzoumi stressed the importance of such training courses because they provide work for young people and enable them to create their own opportunities. Makhzoumi praised the participation of young women in training courses that were considered to be exclusive to males, stressing that the women’s touch on these professions gives them a distinct aesthetic artistic character.
Students’ word
Students’ representative Gael Hamadeh spoke on behalf of her colleagues and thanked Makhzoumi Foundation and GIZ for this opportunity. “This course gave us the opportunity to discover many things that we did not expect to learn, such as space science and tiling techniques, and more importantly, this is not necessarily a male domain,” she added.
These courses aim to train young talent and help them in the first step in the labor market, especially with the economic recession and high unemployment, and the challenge faced by young people in finding jobs, a model integrated step to enable young people to build their future, implemented by Makhzoumi Foundation in cooperation with several international organizations.
After the speeches, a video report on the courses held in various Lebanese regions was presented, followed by the distribution of certificates of completion of the course to the participants.
Worth mentioning, Makhzoumi Foundation held a ceremony at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Tripoli on July 30, 2019 to graduate students from the North (70 students), and another ceremony at the Union of Municipalities of Baalbek on August 1, 2019 to graduate students of Zahle, Baalbek and Hermel (140 students).
احتفلت مؤسسة مخزومي بتخريج 300 طالب من مختلف المناطق اللبنانية، بعد إتمامهم دورات تدريبية مهنية لتعليم التبليط وطلاء الجدران وتركيب ورق الجدران، أقامتها المؤسسة بالتعاون مع منظّمة GIZ، بتمويل من الاتحاد الأوروبي، صندوق مدد MADAD، ضمن مشروع QUDRA. وقد أقامت المؤسسة احتفالاً ختاميًا للمناسبة في مركز جمعية العناية بالطفل والأم في بيروت بتاريخ 5 آب 2019 لتخريج حوالي 100طالب من مناطق بيروت وجبل لبنان.
حضرت الاحتفال رئيسة مؤسسة مخزومي السيدة مي مخزومي، ومدير عام المؤسسة السيد سامر الصفح، ومدراء برامج المؤسسة، إضافة إلى ممثلين عن الشركاء، ومدير ثانوية جميل الرواس الرسمية للبنين الأستاذ مازن الطويل، وصاحب شركة ميمو المهندس مازن شبارو والأساتذة والمدربين، والطلاب وأهاليهم.
مخزومي
وهنّأت رئيسة مؤسسة مخزومي السيدة مي مخزومي في كلمتها الطلاب الذين أتموا التدريب، مثنيةً على مجهودهم. وشدّدت مخزومي على أهمية هكذا دورات تدريبية لأنها تقدّم أعمالًا للشباب، وتمكّنهم من خلق فرصهم الخاصة. وأثنت مخزومي على مشاركة الشابات بدوراتٍ تدريبية كانت تُعدّ حكرًا على الذكور، مؤكدةً أن اللمسة النسائية على هذه المهن تعطيها طابعًا فنيًا جماليًا مميزًا.
كلمة الطلاب
وتحدّثت الخريجة غاييل حمادة بلسان زملائها، فألقت كلمة الطلاب التي شكرت خلالها مؤسسة مخزومي ومنظّمة GIZ على هذه الفرصة. وأضافت غاييل: “هذه الدورة أتاحت لنا فرصة اكتشاف العديد من الأمور التي لم نتوقّع تعلّمها، مثل علم المساحات وأساليب التبليط، والأهم بأن هذا المجال ليس بالضرورة حكرًا على الذكور.”
تهدف هذه الدورات إلى تدريب الكفاءات الشابة ومساعدتهم في أول خطوة في سوق العمل، بالأخص في ظل الركود الاقتصادي وارتفاع نسبة البطالة، والتحدي الذي يواجهه الشباب في إيجاد فرص عمل، وهو خطوة نموذجية متكاملة لتمكين الشباب لبناء مستقبلهم، تنفذها مؤسسة مخزومي بالتعاون مع عدّة منظّمات دولية.
وبعد إلقاء الكلمات، تم عرض تقرير مصوّر عن الدورات التي أُقيمت في مختلف المناطق اللبنانية، تلاه توزيع شهادات إتمام الدورة على المشاركات والمشاركين، والتقاط الصور التذكارية.
يُذكر أن مؤسسة مخزومي كانت قد أقامت احتفالًا في غرفة التجارة والصناعة في طرابلس بتاريخ 30 تموز 2019 لتخريج طلاب منطقة الشمال (70 طالب)، واحتفالًا آخر في مركز اتحاد بلديات بعلبك بتاريخ 1 آب 2019 لتخريج طلًاب منطقة زحلة، بعلبك والهرمل (140 طالب).
