Empowering individuals is the most important step to empowering society, and helping them to become active individuals is the basis for building a productive society. Hence Makhzoumi Foundation’s vision of the necessity of empowering women to become independent producers and income earners, in the simplest ways. Thus were our monthly courses and craft workshops.
Within the context of the different craft workshops, Makhzoumi Foundation continues to train on sewing clothes at its center in Mazraa. The participants learn how to sew shirts, dresses and skirts as well as trousers; they expressed a strong desire to learn and make clothes for themselves, their children, and their grandchildren.
A thread and a hook are enough to provide entertainment, psychological comfort and some money, by sewing clothes for family members and loved ones instead of buying them, or using this craft to sell its products. This is why the demand on “Knitting with Two Hooks” workshop continues at Makhzoumi Foundation.
تمكين الأفراد هو الخطوة الأهم لتمكين المجتمع، ومساعدتهم ليصبحوا أفرادًا فاعلين هي الأساس لبناء مجتمعٍ منتج. من هنا أتت رؤية مؤسسة مخزومي بضرورة تمكين النساء ليصبحن منتجات وذوات دخلٍ مستقل، بأبسط الأساليب. وبذلك كانت دوراتنا الشهرية وورشات العمل الحرفيّة.
ضمن سلسلة ورش العمل الحرفيّة، تستمر مؤسسة مخزومي بالتدريب على خياطة الملبوسات في مركزها في المزرعة، حيث تتعلّم المشاركات تفصيل القمصان والفساتين والتنانير كما البناطيل؛ وقد عبّرت المشاركات عن رغبة شديدة في التعلّم، ليتمكّنّ من انتاج ألبسة لهنّ ولأولادهنّ وأحفادهنّ.
كذلك، فإن خيط وصنارة كفيلان بتوفير التسلية والراحة النفسية وبعض المال، من خلال حياكة الملبوسات لأفراد العائلة والأحباء بدلا من شرائها، أو امتهان هذه الحرفة لبيع منتجاتها. من هنا ما زال الإقبال مستمرًا على ورش عمل الحياكة بالصنارتين في مؤسسة مخزومي.
