Since the first days of the war’s expansion to Beirut and its suburbs, Makhzoumi Foundation has intensified its humanitarian efforts on the ground to respond to the needs of displaced families. In just one week, 17,403 mattresses, blankets, and sleeping mats were distributed, along with 1,443 gallons of water and 1,443 solar-powered lamps, to help families inside shelter centers. Many hot meals and food vouchers were also provided, while dozens of calls from displaced families were received through the support hotlines.
These efforts are carried out in coordination with the Beirut Municipality and the Disaster and Crisis Management Room, and in cooperation with our local and international partners, to ensure a rapid humanitarian response.
This assistance reached displaced families residing in several shelter centers, including private schools such as Lycée Abdel Kader, public schools such as Omar Fakhoury Public Secondary School, and Camille Chamoun Sports City.
All of this was made possible thanks to the efforts of the teams and volunteers on the ground who work tirelessly to facilitate this humanitarian response and serve the community during these difficult circumstances.

أسبوع من الاستجابة الإنسانية في بيروت
منذ الأيام الأولى لتوسّع الحرب إلى بيروت وضواحيها، كثّفت مؤسسة مخزومي جهودها الإنسانية على الأرض للاستجابة لاحتياجات العائلات النازحة. وخلال أسبوع واحد فقط، تمّ توزيع 17403 فرشة، بطانية، حصيرة نوم، إضافة إلى 1443 غالون مياه و1443 مصباحًا يعمل بالطاقة الشمسية لمساعدة العائلات داخل مراكز الإيواء. كما تمّ تأمين الوجبات الساخنة والقسائم الغذائية، إلى جانب استقبال عشرات الاتصالات من العائلات النازحة عبر خطوط الدعم.
وتأتي هذه الجهود بالتنسيق مع بلدية بيروت وغرفة إدارة الكوارث والأزمات، وبالتعاون مع شركائنا المحليين والدوليين، لضمان استجابة إنسانية سريعة.
وقد وصلت هذه المساعدات إلى العائلات النازحة المقيمة في عدد من مراكز الإيواء، من بينها مدارس خاصة في بيروت مثل مدرسة الليسيه عبد القادر، ومدارس رسمية مثل ثانوية عمر فروخ الرسمية، إضافة إلى مدينة كميل شمعون الرياضية.
تمّ كل ذلك بفضل جهود الفرق والمتطوعين على الأرض الذين يعملون بلا كلل لتسهيل هذه الاستجابة الإنسانية وخدمة المجتمع في هذه الظروف الصعبة.
