Several health campaigns were launched during December, continued during February, and will continue with them, to provide the best health care services to you wherever you are…because your health is our concern!
During January and February, Makhzoumi Foundation health care program organized health campaigns that employ the medical mobile unit MMU and target people from different age ranges from the Lebanese community.
The MMU visited many neighborhoods in several areas outside Beirut, including: Aramoun, Debbiyeh, Khalde, Jiyyeh, Saadiyet, Naameh, and Wadi El Zein. During these visits, an esteemed team of health professionals provided free health services to at least 50 beneficiaries during each health campaign day.
General physicians and specialty doctors (such as cardiologists, gynecologists, pediatricians and Ear Nose Throat ENT doctors) examined the patients either in the mobile clinic or MF premises in different areas. The nurses provided support in taking the vital signs and the medical history of the patients.
Additionally, some campaigns were dedicated to provide free laboratory tests, during which blood samples were collected to examine the levels of blood glucose during the past three weeks (HBA1c), iron stores (Ferritin), and kidney function indicators (Creatine and Blood Urine Urea and Uric Acid). The patients benefited from these lab tests completely for free.
Health outreach students and volunteers supported the campaigns by providing health awareness to the patients during the campaigns. A great deal of education targeted COVID-19, explained its hazards, the importance of using personal protective equipment and maintaining safe distance, in addition to the importance of the vaccine. Other health topics targeted non-communicable diseases, family planning, mental health and nutritional advice.
