On the occasion of Refugee’s Day, Makhzoumi Foundation gathered 50 individuals from Lebanon, Syria, Iraq, Yemen, Sudan & Palestine, to introduce all participating nationalities to each other, allowing them to have better insights about each other’s cultures, traditions, best touristic places and food.
Each participant prepared a local dish from his/her country and one known confectionery, in addition to a 10-mins presentation to introduce their countries, while wearing their traditional costume. During the gathering all the anthems and different public songs were played.
Each country had its own corner including its flags, pictures of known symbols, and photos for most used phrase.
Afterwards, all participants shared food together, and drew on stones drawings reflecting the spirit of the day, and created with them the Lebanese Cedar.
At the end of the event, Makhzoumi Foundation team conducted an awareness session about the rights of refugees, and distribute Lebanese cultural gifts to inform all nationalities that Lebanon welcomes them all.
