Makhzoumi Foundation, represented by its President Mrs. May Makhzoumi, signed a memorandum of understanding with the Lebanese National Commission for Lebanese Women, represented by its President Mrs. Claudine Aoun Roukoz, at the commission’s headquarters in Hazmieh. The commission also signed memorandums of understanding with “INJAZ” Lebanon, represented by its executive director Samar Dani, and the Lebanese Association of Women in Labor (LLWB), represented by its President Mrs. Asmahan Al Zein, in presence of members of the three associations and members of the commission.
These memos aim to enhance the economic, social and environmental role of women and girls in Lebanon, and to empower them and raise their level of capacity, in order to increase their participation in economic activities, and to achieve the principles of full gender equality, in addition to preparing them for leadership positions and boards of directors.
The MoU also seeks to achieve the sustainable development goals in general, and particularly combating and eradicating poverty among women, developing their personal, managerial and financial skills, and introducing them to the principles of entrepreneurship, and helping them to create small enterprises.
The goal of this memorandum is to combat all forms of violence against girls and women, eliminate negative stereotypes of women in media, and enhance women’s contribution to environmental protection through joint activities, training and workshops between the National Commission Women’s Affairs and each of the three associations.
وقعت مؤسسة مخزومي، ممثلة برئيستها السيدة مي مخزومي، مذكرة تفاهم مع الهيئة الوطنية لشؤون المرأة اللبنانية ممثلة برئيستها السيدة كلودين عون روكز، في مقر الهيئة في الحازمية. كما وقعت الهيئة مذكرات تفاهم مع جمعية إنجاز لبنان، ممثلة بمديرتها التنفيذية السيدة سمر ضاني، والرابطة اللبنانية لسيدات العمل LLWB، ممثلة برئيستها السيدة أسمهان الزين، بحضور عدد من أعضاء الجمعيات الثلاث وأعضاء الهيئة.
ترمي هذه المذكرات إلى تعزيز الدور الاقتصادي والاجتماعي والبيئي للنساء والفتيات في لبنان، وإلى رفع مستوى تمكينهن وقدراتهن، سعيًا إلى زيادة مشاركتهن في الأنشطة الإقتصادية، وتحقيقًا لمبادىء المساواة الكاملة بين الجنسين، إضافة لإعدادهن لتبوؤ المناصب القيادية وفي مجالس الإدارة.
هذا وتهدف مذكرة التفاهم إلى العمل على تحقيق أهداف التنمية المستدامة بشكلٍ عام، وخصوصا مكافحة الفقر لدى النساء والقضاء عليه، وتنمية مهاراتهن الشخصية والإدارية والمالية، وتعريفهن إلى مبادئ ريادة الأعمال ومساعدتهن على إنشاء المشاريع الصغيرة.
ومن الأهداف المرجوة من هذه المذكرة، العمل على مكافحة جميع أشكال العنف الذي قد تتعرض له الفتيات والنساء، والقضاء على الصور النمطية السلبية للمرأة في الوسائل الإعلامية والإعلانية والتواصلية، وتعزيز مساهمة المرأة في حماية البيئة، وذلك من خلال نشاطات وتدريبات وورش عمل مشتركة بين الهيئة الوطنية لشؤون المرأة وكل من الجمعيات الثلاث.
