With the beginning of the new year, and in the joyful holidays season, Beirut’s wound haven’t healed yet, and the tears of its people have not dried up. But there is no harm in drawing a smile in the darkness, a hope for a better tomorrow for all of Lebanon… so we decided not to let the holidays pass without putting a smile on the little faces!
In a scene that embodied the spirit of coexistence and love that had always characterized Lebanon, Makhzoumi Foundation employees and volunteers visited the families living in the Gemmayzeh area, affected by the Beirut explosion, and distributed gifts to them that had a very valuable moral impact in their hearts, and draw a smile on their faces, spreading the warmth of the holidays and the hope for a better tomorrow.
مع بداية العام الجديد، وفي موسم العيد والفرح، لم بندمل بعد جرح بيروت، ولم تجف دمعة أهلها. لكن لا ضير في بسمةٍ نرسمها وسط الظلام، على أمل غدٍ أفضل لكل لبنان، فقررنا أن لا ندع الأعياد تمر دون ابتسامة على الوجوه الصغيرة!
وفي مشهديّةٍ جسدت روح التعايش والمحبة التي لطالما ميزت لبنان، قام موظفوا ومتطوعوا مؤسسة مخزومي بجولاتٍ على العائلات القاطنة في منطقة الجميزة، المتضررة من انفجار بيروت، ووزعوا لهم هدايا، كان لها الأثر المعنوي الثمين جدًا في قلوبهم، رسمت البسمة على وجوههم ونشرت دفئ العيد، والأمل بغدٍ أفضل.
