Memorandum of Understanding between the General Directorate of Islamic Endowments (Awqaf) at Dar Al-Fatwa, and Makhzoumi Foundation
Under the patronage of the Grand Mufti of Lebanon, Sheikh Abdul Latif Derian, and in the presence of MP Fouad Makhzoumi, Founder and Honorary President of Makhzoumi Foundation, a memorandum of understanding was signed between the General Directorate of Islamic Endowments (Awqaf) at Dar Al-Fatwa, represented by the Director General of Endowments, Dr. Sheikh Muhammad Anis Al-Arwadi, and Makhzoumi Foundation, represented by its President, Mrs. May Makhzoumi, to establish a health fund, funded by the Foundation, to provide health support to imams and preachers of mosques and their assistants in Beirut and their families as well. This took place in the presence of the President of the Sunni Sharia Courts, Sheikh Muhammad Assaf; the General Secretary of Fatwa in the Lebanese Republic, Sheikh Amin Al-Kurdi; the directors of facilities in the institutions affiliated with Dar Al-Fatwa, the Director General of Makhzoumi Foundation, Samer Al-Safah, the Foundation’s staff, members of the Supreme Islamic Sharia Council in Beirut, members of the Administrative Council of Beirut Endowments and many personalities.
After the signing, the President of the Foundation, May Makhzoumi, explained the terms of the agreement indicating that the lofty goal of it is to support scholars, imams of mosques, preachers and their assistants in Beirut and their families, as well as the mechanism of cooperation and services that will be provided by the Foundation.
In his turn, MP Fouad Makhzoumi has confirmed that the health fund funded by Makhzoumi Foundation, which will be managed in coordination with Dar al-Fatwa and under the supervision of His Eminence Mufti Derian, aims to provide health support to imams and preachers of Beirut’s mosques.
For his part, the Grand Mufti of the Republic, Sheikh Abdul Latif Derian, said: “We appreciate this initiative, as it is humanitarian and not political, because the goal behind it is to provide assistance to our endowment institutions, and a joint committee between the General Directorate of Endowments and Makhzoumi Foundation has worked to formulate the terms of this agreement, that is one of the praiseworthy acts of righteousness as for God Almighty.”
مذكرة تفاهم بين المديرية العامة للأوقاف الإسلامية في دار الفتوى ومؤسسة مخزومي
برعاية مفتي الجمهورية اللبنانية الشيخ عبد اللطيف دريان، وبحضور النائب فؤاد مخزومي المؤسس والرئيس الفخري لمؤسسة مخزومي، تم توقيع مذكرة تفاهم بين المديرية العامة للأوقاف الإسلامية في دار الفتوى ممثلة بالمدير العام للأوقاف الدكتور الشيخ محمد أنيس الأروادي ومؤسسة مخزومي ممثلة برئيستها السيدة مي مخزومي، وذلك لإنشاء صندوق صحي مموّل من المؤسسة لتقديم الدعم الصحي لائمة وخطباء المساجد ومساعديهم في بيروت وعائلاتهم ، بحضور رئيس المحاكم الشرعية السنية الشيخ محمد عساف وأمين الفتوى في الجمهورية اللبنانية الشيخ أمين الكردي ومدراء المرافق في المؤسسات التابعة لدار الفتوى ومدير عام مؤسسة مخزومي سامر الصفح وأركان المؤسسة، وأعضاء المجلس الشرعي الإسلامي الأعلى في بيروت، وأعضاء المجلس الإداري لأوقاف بيروت والعديد من الشخصيات.
وبعد التوقيع شرحت رئيسة المؤسسة مي مخزومي بنود الاتفاقية والهدف السامي منها هو في دعم العلماء وأئمة المساجد والخطباء ومساعديهم في بيروت وعائلاتهم ، كما شرحت آلية التعاون والخدمات التي ستقدمها مؤسسة مخزومي في مراكزها الصحية مجانا بالإضافة الى المساعدة في تكاليف العمليات الجراحية.
بدوره أكد النائب فؤاد مخزومي أن الصندوق الصحي المموّل من مؤسسة مخزومي والذي ستتم إدارته بالتنسيق مع دار الفتوى وبإشراف سماحة المفتي دريان، يهدف إلى تقديم الدعم الصحي لأئمة وخطباء مساجد بيروت.
من جهته قال مفتي الجمهورية الشيخ عبد اللطيف دريان: اننا نقدر هذه المبادرة فهي مبادرة إنسانية لا سياسية لأن الهدف من ورائها هو تقديم العون لمؤسساتنا الوقفية، وقد عملت لجنة مشتركة ما بين المديرية العامة للأوقاف ومؤسسة مخزومي على صياغة بنود هذه الاتفاقية، وانطلاقاً من قوله سبحانه وتعالى: “وتعاونوا على البر والتقوى”. هذه الاتفاقية من أعمال البر المحمود عند الله سبحانه وتعالى.
