Keeping our word “Empowering a better tomorrow”, and in the occasion of International Breast Cancer Awareness month, each October of every year, Makhzoumi Foundation launched “Examine Yourself” (Fhassi Halek) campaign, to spread awareness about the importance of early detection for breast cancer treatment.
Makhzoumi Foundation announced that its doors are open for the ladies willing to have a mammogram, using the best and latest technologies, at the primary health care center, MF headquarters, Barbour, Beirut.
And to encourage women, Makhzoumi Foundation also announced that the cost of the mammogram will be discounted, so that all women could be screened and reassured about their health.
The launch of the campaign was coincided with the distribution of awareness flyers about breast cancer, the importance of mammography, early detection and its importance in the success of treatment. And so, Makhzoumi Foundation’s volunteers toured various areas of the capital Beirut, and distributed flyers to passersby and car drivers, to encourage them to undergo mammography.
On parallel, Makhzoumi Foundation launched a digital campaign to reach out to the largest number of citizens. The digital campaign included text messages and e-mails inviting women to undergo mammography, as well as publishing a series of interviews with specialist doctors, to discuss the importance of mammography and early detection of breast cancer.
In this context, Makhzoumi Foundation has sponsored a series of educational lectures that provide health information on ways to prevent cancer in general, and the importance of early detection of breast cancer through mammography.
