Because a bone density test is the only test that can diagnose osteoporosis before a broken bone occurs, every year, Makhzoumi Foundation runs a campaign for the detection of osteoporosis in women in the community.
This test helps women to estimate their chances of breaking a bone. IYAMED, a well-recognized pharmaceutical company in Lebanon has offered free testing for 150 women from all nationalities, during the campaign held at Makhzoumi Foundation headquarters in Beirut. Their team brought the machine and spent the whole day measuring and testing osteoporosis.
On the spot test results helped the physician and healthcare provider make recommendations to every person who joined the campaign. Vitamins were also presented by the specialist doctor for those who were diagnosed with osteoporosis.
نظرًا لأن اختبار كثافة العظام هو الاختبار الوحيد الذي يمكنه تشخيص مرض هشاشة العظام قبل حدوث كسرٍ فيها، تقوم مؤسسة مخزومي كل عام بإجراء حملة للكشف عن مرض هشاشة العظام لدى النساء في المجتمع.
يساعد هذا الاختبار النساء على تقدير إمكانية تعرضهن لكسرٍ في العظم. شركة إياميد للأدوية، شركة معروفة في لبنان ، قدّمت اختبارًا مجانيًا لـ 150 امرأة من جميع الجنسيات، خلال الحملة التي أُقيمت في مركز مؤسسة مخزومي الرئيسي في بيروت. حيث أحضر فريقهم الجهاز المخصص وقضى يومًا كاملًا في اختبار وقياس هشاشة العظام.
ساعدت نتائج الاختبار الفوري الطبيب ومزود الرعاية الصحية على تقديم توصيات لكل شخص انضم إلى الحملة. كما قدم الطبيب المختص الفيتامينات لأولئك الذين تم تشخيص مرض هشاشة العظام.
