The International Crisis Group, an independent non-governmental organization, plays an important role in giving advice to governments and intergovernmental bodies like the United Nations, European Union and World Bank on the prevention and resolution of deadly conflict.
It combines field-based analysis, policy prescription, and advocacy, with key roles being played by senior management and board members, and cooperates directly with governmental, and non-governmental organizations and other political actors, as well as media.
Accordingly, a team from the ICG visited the main branch of Makhzoumi Foundation at Mazraa, and a session was held to highlight on the importance of the Relief Humanitarian Services Unit at the Foundation and what it provides from services targeting displaced people.
“We are working today in collaboration with the UNHCR, UNDP, and the EU to provide diverse and joint services including health, vocational training, development projects, and the micro-credit program which MF initiated to eliminate poverty. Also, we are working hand in hand with governmental institutions (such as Ministry of Social Affairs and the Ministry of Health) to achieve same goals,” President of Makhzoumi Foundation, Mrs. May Makhzoumi pointed out.
