The academic internship nowadays shapes the career path of university students. This is why Makhzoumi Foundation has set partnerships with educational institutions across Lebanon to receive their students’ rotations within its programs. The strong belief that real-world experience through joining an organization as an intern gives youth the opportunity to work for hands-on in a professional environment. At Makhzoumi Foundation, interns are not just there to get coffee or run errands but they work upon a time-limited schedule of tasks that help them gain actual work experience.
Interns are also joining the primary health care center from abroad. In our latest research projects, Joud Alawa, an intern from Yale University in the United States of America joined Makhzoumi Foundation for a period of 2 months, in June and July 2018. Yale University is well recognized as the 3rd oldest institution of higher education in the United States. The research done by Jude addressed a very sensitive topic about cancer awareness among displaced and host communities in Lebanon. He will then travel to Turkey and Jordan to implement the same process before publishing the analysis and results.
